This time last year, my boys had discovered Fungus AmungUs and both loved collecting FunGuys and squishing them in their Toxic Chambers.
Since then new Fungus AmungUs toys have been released and my eldest loves the Yuck Truck and Exgerminator. The Yuck Truck has sound effects, spins the FunGuys around and has a moving hammer to squish them. Whilst the Exgerminator has a moving track which sucks them up, squashes and traps them. It also has sound effects and a flinger to fling your FunGuys.
At the weekend, we took the Mini Robots to Toys R Us to spend their pocket money. This usually results in them choosing another set of Lego which will be built once and stay together for five minutes.
I tried to steer them towards something different. Big Robot was keen on buying a game, one he’s seen at school but never had a chance to play as 29 other children get there first. So we came home with Shark Mania, the shark chomping race game by Spin Master.
In Shark Mania you grab the gold before the shark strikes. Roll the dice and make your choice, grab some gold or run from the shark? Grab as much gold as you can but watch out! There’s a shark chasing you. If you’re too slow it will knock you into the water!
I’ve just had a hot and steamy session on the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor, the toilet floor…even behind the u-bend…
Get your minds out of the gutter! I am, of course, talking about my new Vax SteamFresh Power Plus.
I’ve wanted a steam mop for ages, I’m fed up of the ol’ mop and bucket. The bucket is left out in a corner of the kitchen as it doesn’t fit in the cupboard. Not exactly the prettiest home decor! It soaks the floor, even with microfibre mop heads it takes an age to dry in winter. Time to upgrade.
Just a couple more weeks left of the summer holidays and soon the kids will be back at school. Which means it’s time to check school uniform still fits (my children grow like weeds over the summer!), label everything with their name and buy school shoes because last years are too small, falling to pieces or both.
Last years school shoe shopping was a shock to the system. Big Robot went up a shoe size over the summer holidays so needed new school shoes, plimsolls and trainers for wearing at home all at once. At the same time, Little Robot was starting reception so he needed school shoes as well. We walked out of the shoe shop with my bank account over 100 quid emptier than when we went in!
In the cold, dreary days of January we started turning our minds to summer. We had an awesome summer holiday the year before and looked forward to summer sunshine on a sandy, British beach. Feeling bored of holidays to Caister and the Great Yarmouth area, I started the search for somewhere new. Well new-ish.
I’d been to Hunstanton many times before, climbing over the sandy dunes to get to Old Hunstanton beach is a clear memory from my childhood holidays. I knew it was a family friendly place and, whilst Hunstanton beach is a bit stony in places, there’s fabulous sandy beaches at Old Hunstanton and Holme-next-the-Sea just 10 minutes drive away.
