I’ve just had a hot and steamy session on the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor, the toilet floor…even behind the u-bend…
Get your minds out of the gutter! I am, of course, talking about my new Vax SteamFresh Power Plus.
I’ve wanted a steam mop for ages, I’m fed up of the ol’ mop and bucket. The bucket is left out in a corner of the kitchen as it doesn’t fit in the cupboard. Not exactly the prettiest home decor! It soaks the floor, even with microfibre mop heads it takes an age to dry in winter. Time to upgrade.
I found the Vax SteamFresh Power Plus online and it looked like it ticked all the boxes. It is a multi-function steam mop and handheld steam cleaner in one. Easily manoeuvrable on floors or change to handheld for cleaning taps, showers, cookers, tiles and other surfaces. Adding detergent to the tank helps to shift more stubborn dirt. Well that’s what the box says, does it actually do as promised?
In short, I’m impressed! Quick and easy to use so I can zip round the house cleaning the vinyl flooring in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet in 15 minutes. In 20 minutes I’ve done the porch as well. I love that it gets the floor nice and hot, it feels like I am actually killing germs. Throwing the microfibre pad into the washing machine after use means it’s clean for me to use next time. Unlike a regular mop where it sits festering and I wonder if I’m just spreading dirt and germs around rather than cleaning!
In the box is two microfibre pads, detergent, carpet glider (for steaming carpets, I’ve not tried that yet) and a concentrator nozzle for cleaning as a handheld. I used it on my kitchen tiles and it shifted grease nothing else has done before. It has a steam boost button, which is great for making doubly sure the floor around the bins and under the dining table is clean, and the water tank lasts ages.
I was hesitant about buying a steam mop as I’d heard so many people say they were useless but the Vax SteamFresh Power Plus certainly works for me. I find it much easier to clean my floors and it’s more hygienic too.
