Review: Power Rangers Dino Charge Morpher

My 4 year old is crazy about Power Rangers and when he saw the Power Rangers Dino Charge Morpher in a TV advert he immediately asked for one for Christmas. Sure enough, Father Christmas left one under the Christmas tree and I had a very happy little boy that morning.

The Morpher for Dino Charge basically resembles a gun. It has a trigger that makes battle sounds and lights when pulled. Spinning the barrel section also makes lights and sounds. Pressing down the lever at the end of the Morpher, opens the Morpher for you to put in a Dino Charger.
It comes with two Dino Chargers which are little, battery sized objects which you insert into the Morpher just like the Power Rangers do on the TV programme. Different Dino Chargers make different sounds. They come with many of the Power Rangers Dino Charge toys and you can buy even more of them separately. There‚Äôs 40 to collect and the Dino Charge Morpher comes with Dino Chargers number 1 and 2. Each Dino Charger also has a QR code on one end which can be scanned with the Power Rangers Dino Charge App and, using your devices camera, can morph your image into a Power Ranger. My son thinks it’s quite funny to see himself on the screen with a Power Rangers helmet on!

The Dino Charge Morpher is just the right size for childrens hands. It’s a well made, sturdy toy but it’s not too big or heavy for my boy to use.
If you also have the Power Rangers Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre (click here for my review of the Deluxe Sabre), it can be combined with the Dino Charge Morpher to make a Dino Cannon (there’s two versions of the Sabre, only the Deluxe version of the Sabre can be combined with the Morpher). Whilst my son finds his Sabre and Morpher easy to use separately, he needs help to join them together to make the Dino Cannon. There’s a few steps in the process and he can’t remember them all.

Overall, he loves his Power Rangers Dino Charge toys. I’m quite impressed by how much they do…the lights, sounds, Dino Chargers, connecting them together, App… there’s lots of ways to play and add to his collection in the future.
