Review: Power Rangers Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre

Dino Charge is the latest version of Power Rangers to hit the screens and these toys are a must for any Power Rangers fan. My 4 year old son is no exception and he was so excited to receive a Power Rangers Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre.

I’m being very careful to use it’s full name as there are two versions of this toy. There is the Power Rangers Dino Charge Sabre which smaller and doesn’t light up. My son has the Power Rangers Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre.

That little word “deluxe” makes a huge difference to this toy for not much difference in price. I’ve not seen it in the flesh but, from comparing pictures and video reviews, the standard version is so tiny it looks silly and looks more like a dagger than a sword. I found I could get the deluxe sabre for about £5 more and it was not only bigger and sturdier but also had a light up blade. If you’re considering getting a Power Rangers Dino Charge Morpher as well, then the deluxe version is also the sabre you need as it’ll connect to the Morpher to make a Dino Cannon.

The Power Rangers Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre is 46cm long, makes battle sounds and lights up when a button on the handle is pressed. My son is 4 and this is a perfect size for his little hands and he loves the lights. It comes with one Dino Charger which is a little battery sized object which you can insert into the sabre just like the Power Rangers do in the TV programme. Inserting the Dino Charger also makes the Sabre light up and make different sounds. There’s different Dino Chargers to collect, they come with many of the other Dino Charge toys and different ones could be used with the Sabre.

If you also have the Power Rangers Dino Charge Morpher it can be combined with the Dino Charge Deluxe Sabre (only the Deluxe version, the smaller Sabre won’t do this) to make a Dino Cannon.

Overall, my son has been very pleased with his Power Rangers Dino Charge toys and I’ve been pleased to find they are sturdy and well made.
