Elf on the Shelf – Day 3, 4, 5 and 6.

That little mischievous elf is still in our home getting up to all sorts of things during the night. On Friday night he decided to build a snowman…with no snow. He used toilet rolls instead and borrowed the kids hats and scarfs. Big Robot was the first one downstairs Saturday morning, we heard him cracking up with laughter all the way upstairs.

On Saturday we visited the local Christmas tree festival, something we love to do every year. Then later on we put up our own Christmas tree with new decorations so, for the first time, it looks amazing to Little Robot too. On Sunday morning we found Elfie counting money, not sure what he wants to go shopping for.

Later on Sunday we went to buy the Christmas wreath for our front door, followed by watching Polar Express. Monday morning is back to school but Elfie doesn’t do early nights. No, Elfie stayed up building an elf portrait out of Lego, I think he wants to watch Lego Movie too!

On Monday night, disaster almost struck. We almost forgot the elf! I mean… err… the elf magic almost didn’t work. A bit of quick thinking meant the boys found Elfie snuggled on the sofa, reading about animals that live near the North Pole with Father Christmas and an octopus.

Fortunately, the boys thought it rather funny to discover Elfie like this on Tuesday morning and had no clue it was a slapdash, midnight effort!

So far we’re having fun with Elfie, the boys go to bed excitedly wondering what Elfie will do during the night. Little Robot is no longer freaked out by the idea! Now he knows Elfie does funny things and stays in the living room. I keep checking my Elf on the Shelf ideas post to remind myself of what to do next.

  1. I cannot bring myself to get on the elf on the shelf train.

  2. These naughty elves are everywhere. Kids are even bringing them into school. Great fun. We don’t have an elf. Maybe next year. Sarah #FabFridayPost
