Big Robot is 6.5 years old and loves role play, anything realistic is his favourite. Playing policemen, fire fighters, doctors and chefs are some of his favourites. He liked the look of the Chad Valley Vets Surgery Play Tent for his birthday last year so he could play vets too.
The play tent comes folded into a bag so you can fold it down and store it away when you’re not using it. The only problem is I can never get it folded to fit back in the bag but it’s close enough! It can then fit into a cupboard or under a bed when the boys aren’t playing with it.
The tent pops up when it’s taken out of the bag. Then it’s simply a case of putting the poles together and sliding them into the special pockets to make the play tent more ridged. There’s a plastic board to slide into the shelf inside too. All in all, it takes about 5 minutes to assemble each time.
The Vets Surgery Play Tent comes with some little bandages and a clipboard, which actually has no real clip, the boys pretend to write on it, pretend to look at notes or rest some paper on top and write. Inside the play tent there’s pictures, such as an x-ray machine, on the walls to make it look like a proper vet surgery.
Both my 4.5 and 6.5 year old love this play tent and use it with their cuddly toys. They have all their “patients” lined up in a queue, waiting their turn to see the vet. They use their doctors set with it too, sitting in the tent and listening to a cuddly toys imaginary heartbeat with a stethoscope. In summer, it’s great to put up in the garden so they can play vets outside and also have some shade.
